The latest Join Dementia Research (JDR) volunteer registration data is now available.

JDR registrations continue to be severely affected by the pandemic and changes to memory services, however this is improving. In May 2021:

  • A total of 510 people registered on JDR, of those 57 had a confirmed dementia diagnosis (an increase of 234 compared to April 2021)
  • Overall the statistics continue to show that there are been some natural recovery to volunteer registrations following the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Of this months registrations, 27 people with a dementia diagnosis originated in NHS services.
  • The NHS Telford and Wrekin CCG area generated the most new registrations in May, with a total of 95 new volunteers, next was NHS Shropshire with a total of 55 volunteers.
