The latest Join Dementia Research volunteer registration data are now available.

April 2020 highlights:

  • Number of volunteers to the end of April totals 47,185 (5,870 with a dementia diagnosis, which is 1% of total number of people with a diagnosis – objective is 25% by December 2020)
  • NHS Fylde and Wyre CCG are the top CCG with the most people with dementia registered on JDR (138 volunteers), closely followed by NHS Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees (133 volunteers)
  • NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucester CCG remain the top CCG for volunteers overall with 2,149
  • NHS Fylde and Wyre CCG also remain as the top CCG for % population with dementia registered on dementia, with 6.19% of its population with dementia registered on JDR
  • Humber, Coast and Vale is the top NIHR region by % with 2.24% of its population with dementia registered on JDR
  • Given the current situation, we expect to see declining numbers of volunteers registering on JDR, however, in April there were 163 volunteers without dementia registering (36 from internet search)
  • And there were 21 volunteers with dementia registered in April, 28% via memory clinics
