October Statistics Published
The latest Join Dementia Research volunteer registration data are now available.
October 2019 highlights:
- Total number of volunteers to the end of October is 42,516 (5,306 with a dementia diagnosis, which is 1% of total number of people with a diagnosis – objective is 25% by December 2020)
- NHS Fylde and Wyre CCG are the top CCG with the most people with dementia registered on JDR (126 volunteers), closely followed by NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire CCG (125 volunteers)
- NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucester CCG also has the most volunteers overall with 2,100. 2nd place is another South-West CCG, NHS Devon CCG has registered 1,320 volunteers overall
- NHS Fylde and Wyre CCG also remain as the top CCG for % population with dementia registered on dementia, with 5.38% of its population with dementia registered on JDR
- West of England is the top NIHR region by % with 1.28% of its population with dementia registered on JDR
- In October NHS Buckinghamshire CCG registered the most people with dementia (7), closely followed by NHS Oxfordshire CCG (6)
- NHS Ealing CCG had an impressive October and registered 52 volunteers without dementia
- In October 163 CCG / Health Board regions registered at least one new volunteer and 56 did not
- Referrals from memory clinics continue to generate the largest number of registrations of people living with dementia, accounting or 28% of those registered in October
- GPs surgeries were a good source of both registrants with dementia and those without, accounting for 25% of those without dementia
