Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and NHS Fylde and Wyre CCG are one of the three areas working with the NIHR as exemplars for  embedding the promotion of Join Dementia Research into normal care pathways – delivered as part of the Embedding Research in Care (ERICA) Project.

Since April 2018 the Trust has been piloting a number of ways to share information on Join Dementia Research with it’s patients, in memory clinics, GP surgeries and in the community. These initiatives have started to have an impact, as this month the CCG region broke into the top 10 in the country for the % of local people with dementia registered on Join Dementia Research (from 90th place to 8th place in four months).

In the four months since the project began, they have more than doubled the number of local volunteers registered with dementia, and have a number of initatives being tested. Watch this space for updates and case studies as we share their work over the new year.
