The Clinical Research Network in the North West Coast has been working with a student society at Lancaster University in supporting Join Dementia Research. Defying Dementia is a campaign to support research into drugs and development relating to dementia and neurodegenerative diseases. The student society works to advocate this campaign, and are now becoming Student Ambassadors to help raise awareness of Join Dementia Research.

Students of the Defying Dementia Society recently joined a workshop where they learned more about dementia, dementia research, and the importance of Join Dementia Research. The students were also encouraged to put forward ideas on how they would like to promote the service, which included stalls on campus and through events such as bingo and karaoke. As the initiative continues, it is hoped regional activities will increase,  with students and the general public being encouraged to register with the service.
