Are JDR Kiosks effective at engaging the public in dementia research?
Join Dementia Research (JDR) is promoted through a range of channels including NHS healthcare services, charities, public champions, social media and advertising. However, with a high dependence on staff discussing the service with patients, and on leaflets and paper based materials, we wanted to explore alternative ways to engage patients and encourage registration. This is where we hoped that JDR Kiosks could play a role. Through this initiative we wanted to explore if ‘self-service digital information kiosks are effective in engaging the public, and gaining more registrations for JDR.
Last month the Adam Smith from the Office of the NIHR National Director for Dementia Research presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in Chicago, with details of the initiative and its current outputs:
