This month the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has published updated guidance for NHS and Healthcare providers on the assessment, management and support for people living with dementia and their carers, following a consultation earlier this year.

The new guidance excitingly includes supporting for talking to patients about research, specifically:

1.1.11 Tell people living with dementia (at all stages of the condition) about research studies they could participate in.

Whats the easiest way to meet this requirement? Tell them about Join Dementia Research.

We hope the inclusion of this new guidance will support the work of the staff and organisations working hard to meet the 2020 Dementia Challenge objectives, and giving the best for people living with dementia, encouraging staff to talk about research and how Join Dementia Research can help.

Thank you to all those who participated in the consultation, and submitted the suggestion that this requirement be included – great support.
